A restored Windows 2008 R2 vm does not retain network settings
Description

When you restore a Windows 2008 R2 vm and boot it up the IP address is different from the original vm.
Cause

The original vm was using a VMXNET3 network adaptor. There is a bug in the 2008 R2 driver that causes windows to identify the NIC of the restored vm as a new nic due to a new MAC addresses being assigned.
