Description:
In the event that a backup save set has expired (i.e., it has reached its designated Backup Life, as set in the Advanced Options tab in the Backup window), an attempt to include this retired backup in a new Consolidated Full backup will not reveal a result of Failed as it should. Instead, the backup will attempt to run and return a completion status of Completed with Warnings. In actuality, the Consolidated job will fail and inspection of the NetVault: Backup Log entries for the job will reveal such (e.g., an entry of Log Error with the accompanying message, No backups for set found). This should only be
an issue if a Consolidated Incremental Backups Plug-in backup has been scheduled to occur at a later time, and any target backup save set is retired before the scheduled run time for the consolidated
backup. Therefore, to avoid this issue, ensure that your consolidated backup is scheduled to run before the Backup Life for its target backup save sets has elapsed. If setting up a new Consolidate job, this will
not be an issue, because only currently available backup save sets will be revealed for inclusion in the Consolidated backup (i.e., retired backup save sets will not be shown for selection).
none at this time.
