Unable to start the NetVault service. While starting the service the following error message is returned:
"Failed to connect to NetVault kernel"
There could be several reasons for the NetVault service not starting. In this particular instance a reports database table was corrupt and renaming the folder /opt/netvault/reports/dbmgr/tables/events to /opt/netvault/reports/dbmgr/tables/oldevents.old allowed for a successful start.
1) Enable NetVault trace:
Start nvconfigurator > General > check "Generate debugging files" > Apply
2) Try to start NetVault
3) When the service fails to start and you see the error message, zip the ../netvault/trace folder and send it for review to Support, who will be able to determine the cause for the service not starting
