Description: When the NVGUI is not available, You may need to Blank media in a specific slot by using the CLI command nvblankmedia with the -slotspec argument .
Symptoms: You need to Blank media but NVGUI is not available.
Here's an example of how to use nvblankmedia...
./nvblankmedia -servername nvserver -slotspec nvserver:libraryname::slotnumber
./nvblankmedia -servername NAW0788 -slotspec NAW0788:Quantum::7
Note1. The best way to find the library name is by right clicking on the library and selecting status.
Note2. When using the -slotspec argument you can not use the -library argument. (doing so will result in an error, because the library name is already included on the -slotspec argument.
What this will do is take the tape from the slot number 3 of the library named Quantum in the NetVault server named NAW0788 and blank it.
Here is the complete list of Flags that can be used with the nvblankmedia command...
./nvblankmedia
-servername: The NetVault: Backup name of the machine
target backup device is locally attached. If the device is
NetVault: Backup Client (i.e., a NetVault: Backup SmartClient),
