The Windows 2008 virtual machine doesn't boot after it was backed up and then restored by vRanger.
When vRanger is installed on a Windows 2008 VM, and that VM was created by cloning from a source VM or template, if vRanger performs backups via HotAdd of another VM cloned from the same source or template, the boot sector of that template VM may be modified due to the vRanger disk and target disk sharing the same disk signature. This will result in the restored VM not booting properly.
Do not install vRanger in a cloned VM.
