Description:
Performing COS-less restores of virtual machines in a VCB environment requires the VMware vCenter Converter tool. Specifically, the p2vtool.exe is required to import the virtual machine into the datastore. Version 4.x of the VMware vCenter Converter does not include the p2vtool.exe
Symptoms:
When attempting a COS-less restores of virtual machines in a VCB environment using VMware vCenter Converter 4.x, the restore will fail with the following error messages:
Failed to locate utility to restore VM
Failed to restore vcb1 -
Resolution
The following versions of VMware vCenter Converter are supported for the 1.1 release of the NetVault VMware APM - 3.01, 3.0.2, 3.02 U1, 3.0.3
Only version 3.0.3 is supported for the 1.0 release of the APM. -
