When performing a Backup of a given Virtual Machine receive error message API Call Failed: Operation Timed Out.
The given VM is too busy and or the ESX(i) host is too busy at the time of backup to accept the API call issued.
1. Login into vSphere Client\ VI Client either directly to the ESX(i) or via Virtual Center
2. Right Click on the given VM and choose snapshot\take snapshot
3. In the take snapshot window deselect the box "snapshot the Virutal Machine's Memory"
4. Type in the name of the snapshot for example "test"
5. If the snapshot fails with the same error message recieved on backup (API Call Failed: Operation Timed Out)
6. Schedule a reboot of this VM if possible then try and take a snapshot again.
7. Once you are able to snapshot the VM the vRanger backup will proceed if after a reboot you are still unable to snapshot the VM please contact Vmware Support
