Unable to create a manual snapshot using the vSphere client
If the error also occurs when taking a manual snapshot via the vSphere client: Please contact VMware support regarding this issue http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1007346 Issue may be resolved by performing the following: 1. Open an SSH session to the ESX server and login as root 2. Run the following commands: service mgmt-vmware restart service vmware-vmkauthd restart service vmware-vpxa restart 3. On the VM, restart the VMware Tools service.
If the error does not occur when taking a manual snapshot via the vSphere client: 1. Uninstall VMware Tools from the VM 2. Reboot the VM 3. Reinstall VMware Tools
