Description:
This article talks about StoreVault filers and the fact that not all tape drives are supported and how we see this in NetVault.
Symptoms:
When adding a library, Netvault can see the tape library but the tape drive can not be seen.
On the filer, the command “sysconfig –t” shows no tape drive but returns a string saying that the device is not supported. -
Resolution
Even though NetVault might support a tape drive / library, StoreVault might not. StoreVault support can usually supply a config file to enable support for the tape drive that is not supported. A PDF file from the StoreVault website is attached to this solution. It explains this more clearly and lists what drives require the config file. Only a limited number of drives is supported by StoreVault. -
