Symptoms:
n/a
Introduced in filesystem 7.0 is the ability to save a list of files marked for backup. This list will also show if the backup of that file is successful.
When defining the Backup Options for a filesystem backup, enter a filename in the field “Log of files backed up”. Enter the filename either with its absolute path, or just enter the filename (or path without absolute) to save it into the NetVault home directory. When running the job, the file will be written to on the backup client.
It will be comprised of a list of all items marked as selected for inclusion in the backup job (i.e., including all levels of the selection tree). Each item will be accompanied by an “o” if it was backed up successfully, or an “x” if the backup failed. This option is especially useful when used in conjunction with an Incremental Backup, in order to see the files that were actually backed up (i.e., to track files that are new or have been modified since the previous backup).
The file will be overwritten every time the job is run, or the saved Backup Option Set is used.
