Description:
There are performance implications when running OFM backups on data that is also defined as a source in an active (or paused) Replicator repset. This only occurs in legacy versions of Backup and OFM plugin. Current releases do not show this behaviour.
Symptoms:
During backup, there will be an additional 4 or 5 replication events per second as viewed through nvr_stat.
CPU usage of the nvr_xfer process will also be higher than during non OFM backups using 7.4.5 as viewed through Windows task manager.
Backups using the following combinations exhibit this behaviour:
7.4.[0|1|2|3|4] + OFM 1.7
7.4.[0|1|2|3|4] + OFM 3.0
7.4.[0|1|2|3|4] + no OFM
7.4.5 + OFM 1.7
The following combinations do not exhibit this behaviour:
[7.4.5|8.0] + OFM 3.0
[7.4.5|8.0] + no OFM
Upgrade Backup to 7.4.5 or greater, and/or upgrade OFM plugin to 3.0
