Description:
Setting the block size to 240KB crashes Netvault in Snap Mirror to Tape
When configuring the drive for use with the Snap Mirror to Tape plugin, the device that the snapshot is being transferred to is not directly attached to the filer itself (i.e. a tape drive that is attached to a client system is to be used), an Operating System that supports block size transfers of 240K is required on that system.
Network Appliance’s SnapMirror to Tape functionality uses an enforced block size of 240K. This block size is too large for some operating systems to handle. For complete details on block size capacity, please see the relevant operating system documentation.
Windows operating systems have a default maximum of 64kb but with a registry modification can be increased to 128kb. This is still far short of the needed 240Kb.
