Description:
Moving a VDL from one netvault server to another
Symptoms:
Customer wishes to move a VDL created on one machine to another.
This is not officially supported as it has not passed proper QA but preliminary tests show that it can be done provided NetVault and the OS's are at exactly the same version and patch level.
1. Install NetVault and copy the VDL to the desired location on the new machine
2. Edit diskdevices.cfg to reflect the path to the library and drives.
3. Edit the .media files in the slots directories (there may be some in drives directories as well) to reflect the proper path to the media files they point to.
4. Add the library through device management and scan the media.
NOTE: This functionality does not extend to the movement of an SVDL to another host system.
