Step by Step Guide in setting up Reporting to your email in NetVault (9.2 and below)
When configured, NetVault Email Notifications are a very useful way for receiving updates to events in NetVault such as Backup statuses, media inventory statuses and client statuses, among many other notifications. It allows for a more complete awareness to the everyday events in the NetVault environment and is highly recommended to be configured.
Adding the reporting layer to the emails you will receive from NetVault will help to make management more seamless and require far less time spent into running reports manually and viewing them.
First, email notification will have to be setup if it has not yet been done.
1. Open NetVault Configurator (nvconfigurator)
2. Click on the "Notification" tab and fill out the following fields:
3. Click the "Global Notification" Tab - Here, you will fill out the email address of sysop admin. (This is the email address or Distrobution list the notifications will go to.
Click Apply, and close the NetVault Configurator
4. Next, Open the NetVault GUI
5. Select Operations > Reports
6. Click on the "jobs" tab
7. Right click on the report job that you want to get an email from and choose "edit / view job"
8. Click on "Schedule" and set the schedule to whatever frequency you need the report to have,
9. Click on the "Options" tab
10. Type "email" (or any word that will help you identify this event) in the "Event to raise on report completion" field
11. Click on the Save button to save
12. Go back to the NetVault GUI home screen
13. Click on Adminstration > Global Notification
14. Double click on "Report Job"
15. Double click on "email" (or the word that you chose to use in step 10)
16. Check mark "email sysop"
17. Save the changes in "Global Notification"
You should start receiving reports in your email.
