- Stop Netvault Service
- Edit ..\netvault\config\diskdevices.cfg
- Add the new drive path under [drives] with the new number
- Save the configuration file
- Go to the location of your VTL
- Open the 'Drives' folder and add the new drive following the other folders pattern
- Copy/paste .serial file into the new drive folder from existing one
- Edit .serial file and modify it so that it reads the number of the new drive
- Close the 'Drives' folder
- Rename it so that it reads the number of the new drive at the end of the file name
- Start Netvault service
- Open Device Management Window from NV GUI
- Right click on the library and select 'Remove'. Note this will not remove the library information for the configuration files.
- Go back to Device management and NV will detect the new configuration
- The new drive has been added
