When replacing hardware of a system but keeping the original disk drive layout and drive lettering it would be useful to use old backups and schedules.
This can be done by doing the following:
1/ completely remove old client from NetVault client management
2/ stop NetVault on the old client
3/ install NetVault client on the new system, giving the client the sane NetVault name as the old client
4/ in client management find the client using the IPaddress in the find option, Then add the client .
5/ make sure any scripts or exclusion list used are moved to the new client
All backups that ran on the original client will now run on the new client
