When viewing NetVault Backups service state in nvconfigurator, the GUI shows
Current State Unknown
Often associated with this state, the NetVault Process Manager Service does not appear in Windows Services Manager
This problem is caused by a failed install or upgrade, where the the NetVault service does not correctly register.
This problem can occasionally be resolved by rebooting the server. If the situation does not improve by a reboot, then the only option is to uninstall NetVault Backup, reboot the server, and install again.
