Description: Explanation as to why users might be greyed out in Access Control
Symptoms: When entering "Access Control" (User-Level Access/ULA) on a Server, the available users are greyed out. New users can't be added. -
Resolution
Certain NetVault editions (for example a stand-alone Server edition) don't come with the User-Level Access feature enabled. In order to enable this, the user needs to upgrade to a higher edition of NetVault.
To check, run the "Server Licence - Capabilities and Usage" report. In the 'Server License Flags' component, you will see 'User-Level Access Enabled'. If this is 'No', you are not licenced for it. -
