Description:
When recovering mailbox objects from NetVault: FastRecover or Exchange APM you can not connect to mailboxes with PowerControls.
Symptoms:
After connecting to the target Exchange Server all mailboxes are inaccessible.
In the "Target" section of PowerControls all maiboxes show an 'inaccessible' status icon.
The PowerControls log file contains entries such as the following:
Attempting to Connect to Mailbox - test005
--Connection to Mailbox - test005 Failed
Mailbox access must be granted in Exchange.
To grant access to all mailboxes on an Exchange 2000/2003Server:
1. Open the "Active Directory Users & Computer" MMC console.
2. Open the User or Group Properties for the AD object related to the mailbox.
3. Select the "Exchange Advanced" tab.
4. Click on "Mailbox Rights".
5. In the Permissions window click "Advanced".
6. Add "Full Mailbox Access" for the desired account.
To grant access to all mailboxes on an Exchange 2007 Server:
1. Open Windows Powershell.
2. Issue the following commands:
Get-MailboxServer [Server_Name] | Add-ADPermission -User [User_Name] -ExtendedRights Send-As
Get-MailboxServer [Server_Name] | Add-ADPermission -User [User_Name] -ExtendedRights Receive-As
