This error’s purpose is to alert the user that the hardware configuration has been changed while the VM was running on a snapshot. It is not possible for vRanger to backup this VM until the configurations match.This can be accomplished by committing the open snapshot(s) through the VI Client and refraining from making hardware configuration changes while a snapshot is open.
For more details on this error, please review the following VMware Article (1007969). If the snapshots cannot be consolidated, it is recommended to engage with VMware Support. Creating a Clone of the VM is also an alternative or as an additional backup while the original one is being troubleshooted.
If backups are performed with Machine-Advanced Transport and not Virtual Appliances, please make sure that automount is disabled and scrubbed in the vRanger Server to avoid possible locks on your snapshots as indicated in this vRanger document.
