NetVault GUI wont start netvault not running running GUI as user instead of administrator (4045479)

Description: NetVault GUI won't start.

Symptoms: GUI won't start; "NetVault not running" error message

You must at least be a local Administrator to run the NetVault GUI. If you can not be given that privilege on the computer you are now running the GUI on, you can install the client software on another computer, and run the GUI from there. Before the GUI will run on a client, though, you will have to edit the gui.cfg file in the netvault/config directory. It will contain something like this.

[Servers]
names=

Place the name of the NetVault server in the file, so it looks like this (if your server is called NVSERVER).

names=NVSERVER
