A new Repository is created in vRanger. Is it possible to import old savepoints from a previous Repository?
Please use the following steps to move savepoints from repository to another.
1. Each repository has a globalmanifest.metadata file that serves as a master index file.
2. You would remove the repository to be retired from vRanger (Right-click on the "My Repository" screen and "Remove"). However, you would NOT check the "Delete savepoints from repository" checkbox. This will keep all of the savepoint data in the share, along with the manifest file.
3. You would use some file-copy method to copy all of these files over to the new Repository
4. Once done, you would setup a new Repository in vRanger, and point it to the new Repository. The app will prompt you to "Import as Read-Only", "Import", or "Overwrite". You will select "Import".
5. The app will read the manifest file, and bring over the repository to the database, and the savepoints will now show up in the "My Repository" screen.
Note: After editing the jobs to use the new repository, full backups will be run.
Please note that all the imported savepoint will not be linked to any backup jobs and will need to be cleaned up manually via the vRanger My Repository view in the GUI once they are no longer needed.
