Description:
The NetVault: Backup Encryption plugin currently only supports the CAST-128 algorithm and the MD5 key parser. The plugin allows for the introduction of additional algorithms and parsers in the future through the NetVault Configurator, but currently only CAST-128 and MD5 are available. Attempting to configure the plugin to use any other algorithm or parser will result in backup failure.
Symptoms:
Error messages in the backup log will indicate that an invalid algorithm or parser was configured. The error will be one or both of the following:
Encryption setup failure: Crypto algorithm “xxxx” not recognised.
Encryption setup failure: Key parser “xxxx” not recognised.
In the Encryption tab of NetVault Configurator, the values for Encryption Algorithm and Key Parser must be either left blank, or “cast128” and “md5” respectively.
All other values will cause the backup to fail.
