After a hardware change to your ESX environment, such as reconfiguration of Networking, your replication jobs begin to fail with the above error message.
This is due to new UUIDs assigned to the components of the vm by VMware. vRanger uses the UUIDs to identify the VM as well as components of the vm including the Datastore and the Network the vm is connected to. When there is a significant change to any of these items VMware assigns a new UUID. Since vRanger has the old UUID information stored it cannot locate the necessary components to proceed with the replication.
To resolve this:
- remove the replication job from the vm
- in the My Inventory view refresh the vRanger inventory
- create a new replication job
