Description: System : Any Drive in Library goes offline if a tape load is attempted

Symptoms:
When an attempt is made to load a tape into any one of the drives of a physical library (no specific manufacturer the drive in question will go offline.
In the Netvault device logs we see messages similar to the following:
Job Message 2011/05/27 04:53:46 2622 Media WDS01 (WDS01: 2-0.0.1 (ADIC Scalar i500)) Job has been assigned media '000263L3' (000272L3) in 'DRIVE 4:WDS01'

Other messages such as ‘MEDIA SOURCE ELEMENT FULL’ or ‘MEDIA SOURCE ELEMENT EMPTY’ may also appear.
This is generally caused by the fact that persistent bindings are not configured and a reboot occurred.

Such errors would normally indicate that the drive ordering for the library in Netvault is incorrect.
This can be verified by checking the serial numbers against the drives in the Library’s own web interface with the serial numbers in Netvault Device Management.

If however as in the above case it can be verified that the Netvault drive order is the same as in the Library web interface then this is most likely a hardware issue with the Library changer.
