getting invalid credentials error (4044192)

Invalid Credential Errors in vRanger failed detail log.(No Gold or Gray Keys shown in vRanger Inventory GUI)

The cause is the way (the name) Hosts was added to vCenter or to the vRanger Inventory GUI.

Multiple entries of the same host were entered into vCenter by IP or FQDN.

Because ESX host backups are direct to target backups please follow the steps below to credential the ESX host(s). The steps below are not necessary for ESXi hosts because VC credentials can be used to perform backup jobs against these hosts.

In My Inventory right click on Host(s) and then Remove Credentials

1. In Tool -> Options -> Host - uncheck the Host(s) for Backup and Replication that still have a check next to them
2. Click OK
3. In Tool -> Options -> Host - check the Host(s) for Backup and Replication that match the names that the VC shows
4. Click OK
5. In My Inventory click Add -> ESX Host and added the Host(s) by IP or FQDN
6. After all the hosts have been credentialed you should see 2 gold keys next to the hosts.
