When inserting data tapes into the tape library whose contents are no longer in the NetVault Media Database and scanning them, the scan completes successfully, but the backups on those tapes are not added to Media Management. Instead, they appear to have no data on them.
If the backups spanned more than one tape, the last tape in the backup set contains the Index for the entire backup. If the tape with the Index isn’t one of the tapes that were scanned, it might show that there are no backups on the tapes that were scanned, *until* you scan the tape that has the backup's Index file.
