Description:
Backup failing right at the start, with "Failed to initialize backup stream"
Further on the binary log indicates a channel error. If we double click the channel error to get the details, we see:
Got list of '1' ports
Fatal error during address bind: Address already in use
The "Got list of '1' ports" indicate we are going through a firewall, otherwise the message would be "Got list of '0' ports. Since the initialization of the backup stream (data channel) would be coming from the client, the problem must lie in connecting back to the NetVault server. The firewall tabs had been set correctly on both the server and the client. Obviously, the firewall was still blocking the connection.
In this particular case, the firewall ACL list had to be stripped and readded.
