Creation of SVTL results in error message "Failed to scan for raw devices" (4044113)

Symptoms:
A specific Windows system is unable to create an SVTL with above error, although other systems are able to create an SVTL on the same LUN. If it is created elsewhere, the problematic system can't see or add it.

Reason:
This behaviour can occur if the LUN to be used by the SVTL is located on a NetApp filer, and NetApp's "SnapDrive" or "Replicator X" products are used.

SnapDrive is an additional layer between LUN and operating system that the SVTL has not been tested with, and Replicator X is used to migrate local disks to the SAN, hooking into the Operating System.

Uninstall any of these NetApp products from the SmartClient to be used to create/add the SVTL.
