This article talks about how to open the EE ports or front door of the Dell PowerVault TL4000 and the IBM 3573 tape library.

Symptoms:
When using the EE ports or the open door command from netvault the physical doors do not open.

Once the open EE port or the open door command has been issued via |NetVault use the Library front panel to physical open the EE port or door.

After consultation with Dell / IBM this is the intended process the NetVault open door or EE port command will only unlock the respective door or port.
