Symptoms:
The duplication phase of a multistream backup (for example Informix or Oracle RMAN) uses more media than the original backup job and does not fill each tape.
This issue has been resolved in NetVault 8.0 u2.
On the Advanced options tab, select the option that reads "Allow streams to share media".
Explanation:
Without this option selected the default behaviour is for NetVault to place each segment on a different media when duplicating, even though the source version may have had all segments on a single media. With certain plugins the default behaviour is desirable, with others the option needs to be selected for optimal media usage.
