How to import savepoints into vRanger at a DR site.

To import save points at the DR site please follow these steps. (The installation guide can be used for assistance for steps 2-10.)

1. Replicate or move the repository from the Primary site to the DR site.
   1. A repository is the directory that contains the GlobalMenifest.metadata xml file, thesavepoint subdirectories, and VM backup directories with all the savepoints, this xml file contains information about your repository and all the backups saved to the repository.
   2. The savepoint directory contains subdirectories of all the backups that were performed against a VM.
   3. The VM backup directory contains the savepoint/savepoints for the backup/backups performed for a VM.
   4. A savepoints consists of 3 files a .Manifest.metadata xml file, a .VmConfig.Metadata xml file, and a .var backup file.
   5. Depending on the backup performed the VM backup directory can contain multiple savepoints.
2. Install vRanger at the DR site.
3. Launch the Startup Wizard if it doesn’t start automatically when you lunch vRanger.
4. License vRanger at the DR site.(An additional license file is required to license vRanger.)
5. Add the Virtual Center server used at the DR site to vRanger.
6. Add all the hosts used at the DR site to vRanger.
7. Add a repository to vRanger at the DR site.
   1. Use the directory that was replicated or copied from step 1.
   2. Because you are choosing to import a repository you will see the following Window

3. Select import.

4. Proceed to step 7.

Add a SMTP server at the DR site to vRanger.

Add email addresses that vRanger emails will be sent to on the vRanger at the DR site.

Click finish to complete the Startup Wizard.
