Description:
Instructions for how to remove an SVTL from Netvault on Windows platforms
Symptoms:
When removing and SVTL from device management, the SVTL keep reappearing in the "Add library" window.
1.Delete the SVTL from Netvault Devices.
2.In the Windows disk management wizard, label the raw disk. This step effectively makes it NOT available as a raw disk in Netvault.
Please note that formatting the drive does not work, it must be labelled.
Explanation
A Windows based Netvault server will always display all raw devices as available SVTL drives, this is similar to the software always recognising an attached physical library.
Once a raw drive has been labelled it will not be seen by Netvault as an available raw device for a VTL, to make it available again, simply remove the label.
