Symptoms:

When running a Netvault Informix APM backup, the backup starts but never completes.
The onbar command is launched, but the job manager never starts a new Netvault job.

Filesystem backups do run correctly from the same client.

1) make sure that the informix APM is installed on the Netvault server as well as the client and configured correctly on the client.

2) make sure that nvpluginaccess has been run for the client on the server and the informix APM selected:
~netvault/util/nvpluginaccess -client
(then allow the program to prompt for the remaining options)

3) make sure that the Netvault client installation was run with a root UMASK of 022. If the UMASK is more restrictive, the informix user does not have access to the directories, config file and libraries that it requires and backups fill fail to connect.

4) check that the onconfig file has the correct entries as defined in the Netvault Informix APM user's guide.
