When I try to add/modify a Host Credentials in vRanger I receive this error:
"Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream."
The host name I try to add is FQDN format.
When I try to add ESX hosts by TCP/IP address they authenticate ok. The backups work.
Immediately after vCenter is added to the vRanger backups fail.
There is a problem with configuration of DNS/Domain between ESX Hosts and vCenter. They most likely are in separate domains. (They should be in same domain)
Please check your vMware configuration.
Please make sure vCenter and ESX hosts are part of the same DNS domain suffix as the vranger server and made sure DNS lookups are working between all hosts.
Quick workaround is to remove all Hosts and vCenter from inventory. Add hosts to inventory and proceed with backup.
Note: After you add vCenter to your vRanger Inventory, all backup jobs would need to be recreated.
Please don't add vCenter to vRanger until configuration in your vMware is corrected.
