Description
Upgrade vRanger from an older version to the newest version, backup and replications using virtual appliances might fail with “ Error: Virtual appliance has an incompatible version “ -
Cause
vRanger is upgraded to the latest version but the Virtual Appliances are still running on the older versions which are not compatible with the latest version of vRanger. -
Resolution
Virtual Appliances needs to be upgraded to the supported versions to work with the latest version of vRanger.
Please perform the steps suggested to upgrade the Virtual Appliances to a supported version,
1) Connect to the vRanger server and open the vRanger UI.
2) Navigate to Tools -> Options -> Virtual Appliance -> Configuration.
3) On the right-hand pane select the VA you wish to upgrade and click on the Upgrade button.
4) A window will pop up, please select the VA and click on upgrade to complete the upgrade process.
5) Once the upgrade is successful, you should see the VA upgraded to the version compatible with the vRanger.
