Title: Domino Failed to get db list
Date: 02/2007
NV Version: 7.1.3
OS Version: SuSE 10
Application version:Domino 6.5.5
Plugin version:Lotus Notes 3.1.1
Description: Explanation of "Failed to get db list" error when backing up Domino.
Symptoms:
When browsing the Server Databases node for the Lotus notes plugin a popup box is shown with the error message:
"Failed to get Dbs List. No Dbs found in Domino data directory"
When running a backup with the server the following Netvault error messages are generated by the plugin:
Error 2007/02/19 11:25:24 30 Data Plugin suse10vm Failed to get Dbs List. No Dbs found in Domino data directory
Job Message 2007/02/19 11:25:27 30 Data Plugin suse10vm Backup Domino server Dbs
Error 2007/02/19 11:25:27 30 Data Plugin suse10vm Domino server Database list is empty
Error 2007/02/19 11:25:27 30 Data Plugin suse10vm Failed to backup Domino server Dbs
Job Message 2007/02/19 11:25:27 30 Data Plugin suse10vm Backup User's MailBox
At the simplest this can be an incorrect path of Plugin configuration "Lotus Notes Data Directory". However we - have had an occurrance of this where this was configured correctly but the "Location of User's mail" was pointing incorrectly at the Domino data path. (Ie. both were set to /local/notesdata). What appears to be happening is that the Notes Agent maintains an internal list of locations of databases, and after incorrectly listing all the databases in the mail directory, it then does not add them to the database list correctly (as it recognises that it has already added them).
Correcting the "Location of User's mail" and closing and re-opening the GUI resolves the problem.
