"The Windows Installer service could not be accessed" (4042653)

Symptoms:
Trying to install the Netvault 8 Update 3 Client version results in a Windows error message: "The Windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in a safe mode or if Windows installer is not correctly installed - contact your support personnel for assistance"

This is a Microsoft issue where the Installer could be corrupt or the Installer was not registered.

The recommendations from BakBone Support is to try the above article and see if this corrects the issue. If it does not correct the problem, the next recommendation would be to contact Microsoft Support to resolve the problem.
