Quiesced backup of a VM fails with 3201 error message (4042622)

Quiesced backup of a VM fails with 3201 error similar to :

Error Message: 3201 - can't open [Datastore_1] VM1/VM1.vmdk
SnapShot file '[VMFS_01] Z-VError Message: 3201 - can't open [VMFS_01] VM1/VM1.vmdk - VM1/VM1-000002.vmdk' - not found in current machine state.

This is an issue with the way vRanger reads the two snapshots created by vSphere when running a quiesced snapshot using VSS

To resolve this issue try the following.

1. Reboot the VM
2. If 1. does not work, Re-install VMWare tools on the VM
3. If one or two do not work then you will need to install vzShadow and remove VSS from VMWare Tools

To remove VSS from VMware tools please do the following.

Modify your VMware tools installations to remove VSS from it.

1. Click install/upgrade VMware tools on the Guest OS from your vSphere client.
2. Choose interactive mode
3. Double click the VMware tools installation in the Guest OS.
4. Choose Modify
5. Drop down the VMware Device Drivers
6. Select Volume Shadow Copy Services
7. Choose "This Feature will not be available
8. Finish the installation.
9. Reboot the server

Once vzShadow has been installed and VSS has been removed and the VM rebooted, retry your backup.
