When you try to an ESX host you get an error saying that the host you were trying to add is not an ESX host
When attempting to add an ESX 3.x host to the VMware Hosts configuration page in vRanger and it reports back with an 'error' that the host appears to be a non ESX host. The error is:
“Host <hostname> appears to be a non Esx host – operation is not allowed”
1. Close vRanger
2. Go into "C:\Program Files\vizioncore\esxRanger Professional" and rename servers.dat to servers.dat.old
3. Then open a command prompt and ping your ESX host by the FQDN. If you get a normal response then open the vRanger GUI and try adding the ESX host by FQDN.
