How to find out if your NetVault Server license has been installed, or if a Plugin license is expiring.
1. Open the NetVault Configurator on the NetVault Server and select the License tab. Alternatively, you can use the nvlicensinfo command line utility located in the \util directory where NetVault is installed.
2. Look in the ‘Serial Numbers of Applied Keys’ window. Any licenses that say ‘Machine-tied’ are permanent licenses. Otherwise, it will tell you how many days are left on the evaluation license. Here are some examples:
#10044 - plg-1048000-naw0627.bkl: Floating Plugin Eval license for plugin id 1048000 installed on 16:16 20 Jun 2007, 30 day eval, 11 remaining
#12459 - plg-1056000-naw0627.bkl: Machine-tied Plugin license for plugin id 1056000 installed on 16:35 24 Jul 2007
3. If a license is expiring, it may be that it is an evaluation license for a Plugin that came bundled with that you are not using or you have installed separately on NetVault , and have not purchased a permanent license for. Here is a list of some common plugin Id numbers.
Server License - This is the main license on your NetVault server. If you don’t have a machine tied license for this, send your machine ID and customer information to get licensing assistance from the following URL:

1103000 - SVDL - This is not used for normal VTL libraries - This is a virtual library that writes to a raw device. The evaluation license comes with NetVault.
1022000 - Oracle RMAN
1025000 - MSSQL
1039000 - Exchange 2000
1047000 - SQL Server APM

4. If the machine ID changed for the computer, none of your machine-tied licenses will work.
