This Article talks about why it is not possible to consolidate NDMP incremental backups
It is not possible to consolidate NDMP incremental backups because Netvault uses the DUMP program resident on the filer and this option is not available with dump. To change this NetApp would have to rewrite DUMP program for the Ontap Operating system.
