Description:
This error usually indicates a communication problem between NetVault client/server or NetVault domain controller/server.
Symptoms:
Attempting to add a NetVault Client XP SP2/2003 SP1 machine in Client Management results in the error message, "Unknown error -3", when attempting to manage NetVault servers remotely through Windows XP SP2/2003 SP1 NetVault Domain Controller.
1. Disabling the Firewall in Windows XP/2003 will allow the client to be added.
2. Firewall Settings: Netvault uses multiple ports starting at 20031.
Please refer to NetVault Configurator guide as to the requirements to configure the Firewall Tab in the NetVault Configurator. The Netvault/Configurator/ Firewall Tab must be configured on the Netvault Server and all Netvault Clients.
