Description: Incremental backup fails. Incremental backups require there be a Full backup of the same selection set in the NetVault database. If the incremental backup doesn't use the same selection set as the full, or the Full backup has expired, the incremental backup will fail.
Symptoms: "Cannot find previous full" error or “failed to find full” errors
Solution/Workaround/Procedure
Here is how to create an incremental backup.
1. Create a full backup, and use the 'save as' button on the bottom of the selections tab, to create a selection set. Leave the Backup options tab set to backup type 'Full'. Configure the rest of the tabs as needed.
2. Run the full backup.
3 Create an incremental backup, and use the load button to load the selection set you created in the full backup. In the backup options tab, change the backup type to Incremental. Configure the rest of the tabs as needed.
4. Run the incremental job.
