When running a backup that duplicates to a standalone tape drive the phase 2 sits waiting for media.
When the waiting for media is diagnosed the tape that is the desired target tape for the duplication give the reason for not being used as “ TESETTAPE01 is a valid combination that is available with weight 0x2cf00032”
The phase 1 (first copy) backup uses a backup plugin that uses multiple streams, (any backup plugin that give the option to have x number of streams, such as oracle, exchange, VMware
Multiple stream phase 1 backups will not write duplications to 1 tape unless the option “Allow Streams to Share Media” is selected
For phase 2 duplications run from the advanced option set of the phase 1 job.
Edit the advanced option set, select secondary copy, select “Allow Streams to Share Media” and save.
For a duplication run as a standalone job using the data copy plugin.
Edit the data copy options set select “Allow Streams to Share Media” and save.
