Repository migrated to different storage is not mounting
Description
Repository was copied to another storage and mapped as an iSCSI disk, but it's not mounting anymore. Trying to initiate a repository check - passes, but then mount fails again
Cause
New storage geometry is using 4096 bytes per sector rather than 512 bytes per sector that was used on the old storage.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, please make sure that repository paths to Data and Metadata are correct and accessible. Open MSINFO32 and under Components->Storage->Disks verify what bytes per sector value is used for iSCSI target
After that, stop the Core service. Open regedit and navigate to HKLM\Software\Apprecovery\Core\Repositories
There could be several <GUID> keys, each one is corresponding to the separate repository. By drilling down under <GUID>\<number>\Specification, locate the repository that is not mounting. Export GUID key to the file for backup purposes.
Modify the bytes per sector value from 512 to 4096 if path is pointing to the disk with 4096 bytes per sector and make sure that WriteCachingPolicy is set to 2 under each <number>\Specification registry key for the affected repository
Start the Core service back and verify if repository is mounted successfully
