When trying to boot a VirtualBox exported Linux machine, that has 9 or more disks attached to one disk controller and either the '/' partition or the '/boot' partition reside inside of a LVG (Logical Volume Group), then the boot up of this Linux guest machine will fail.
The issue is caused by the limitation in the disk controller LSI SAS, which only supports a maximum of 8 disks attached to the controller. Therefore, if you are exporting a machine with 10 disks, 8 disks would fill up the LSI SAS controller and then the 9th and 10th disks would be placed on the LSI SCSI controller.
Because the 9th and 10th disks have a separate Major and Minor device numbers, the LVM(Logical Volume Manager) will not be able to recognize the disks as part of the LVG.
