PERC controllers are reporting Fatal Firmware errors on systems running AppAssure and also on systems running SQL. This is specific to PERC driver version 6.802.19.00
Core service does not need to be running to encounter this issue on Windows Systems. The PERC controller log will fill its 1MB size limit and the logs are full within 1 second.
Event logs display : Event ID 11 - "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1." After the next reboot you will see the fatal firmware error. If the controller is a PERC H810 that had the issue there will be a memory dump created. If the controller is an H710 it will Blue Screen because the OS drive is not available.

DO NOT REPLACE PERC CONTROLLERS FOR THIS ISSUE.
Update the PERC driver to the most recent versions. See PERC firmware version is out of date.
