"Out of memory condition" Error for Incrementals/Differential Tasks of TB or Larger VMDKs (4038548)

When performing an  incrementals/differential task on a vmdk that is a TB or larger you recieve the following error: "An internal error occurred during execution, please contact Quest support if the error persists.  Error Message: 2268 - Out of memory condition."

However, full tasks on the same vmdk run fine without any issues.

Even though there is plenty of memory within the system, vRanger may have trouble allocating enough memory to store the checksum that is necessary for the incremental or differential task.

NOTE: This resolution is for vRanger 6.0& vRanger 6.0.1. There is a separate DLL file for vRanger 6.0 & vRanger 6.0.1.

1. Backup your existing "Vizioncore.BET.dll" in C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest Software\vRanger\Service folder. You can rename this to -old
2. Rename the attached dll file to"Vizioncore.BET.dll"  and copy it into the same folder.
3. Restart "vRanger Service" from services.msc.
4. Start a new instance of vRanger Client.

Potential Work around for other versions of vRanger.

• Deploy a VA or use an existing vRanger VA for backups. (You will need to assign more memory to the VA.)
• Create a separate backup task for the VMs that contain the TB+ vmdks.
