An Agent protected by Rapid Recovery has a CIFS share or a NFS mounted but Rapid Recovery is unable to see this.
Cause
In order for Rapid Recovery to backup a volume it needs to be presented to the agent as a volume and not a share. Rapid Recovery has no way of backing up CIFS/NFS shares as its not a file level backup software, its volume. We can protect over iSCSI because iSCSI is block level and NFS is file based. With NFS, the filesystem is managed by the NFS server not the Agent that has the NFS share mounted.
Resolution
Possible workarounds:
Use an iscsi connection to the server hosting the NFS/CIFS share if supported by the SAN/NAS/Fileserver.
OR
Copy the data from the share to a local volume and protect this local volume.
